Marcel LeBrun

Marcel LeBrun has years of leadership experience with technology startups, and is currently the CEO of Radian6 as well as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Salesforce Radian6.  After earning his BSc.Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Marcel began his career at NBTel, and eventually co-founded iMagicTV, a startup company that became the worldwide market leader in IPTV video software solutions where he was President and CEO.  He also worked as Vice President of Mariner Partners Inc., as well as Vice President of the Fixed Solutions Division of Paris-based Alcatel.  Marcel specializes in social media marketing, social media monitoring and analysis and entrepreneurship and business building.

Rivers Corbett

Al Sturgeon

With over 20 years of industry experience across sales, marketing, product management and design, Al Sturgeon combines passion and technology when working with his largest customers, industry analysts and account teams, across industries and regions to create compelling visions, solutions, and experiences. Showing how to solve problems with technology and inspiring our customers is where Sturgeon’s drive and enjoyment comes from. Since seeing is believing, he finds sharing ideas with a mix of video, demos, and slides, helps any customer obsessed executive create an experience that feels personal for each customer. Although technology will change, Sturgeon enjoys creating compelling stories and positioning, taking high level themes and customizing to make them relevant for our customers, relatable to the audience, and attainable by any business.

Leveraging the experience from many years working with startups and emerging companies, with several years at Salesforce, Sturrgeon spend his time doing things like product marketing, product launches, field enablement, briefings for analysts, executive briefings, customer roadmap briefings, product demos and occasionally attending industry events.

Joanna Nickerson

PDC/B4Change

With a strong background in both business and non-profit organizations, Joanna is motivated to enable social entrepreneurship in the region.  Her role as Social Innovation Manager achieves this through unique entrepreneurial programs for New Brunswick students who are driven to become agents of change.  Joanna also manages the B4 Change Accelerator – a program which facilitates and nurtures high-impact ventures and is the first social enterprise accelerator in the region. Joanna graduated from the University of New Brunswick with her Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.
During her studies, she worked closely with several local startups in developing business plans and acquiring funding.  Joanna is passionate about supporting social change through collaboration and innovation and dedicated to encouraging changemakers around her. Joanna previously worked for Brilliant Labs, where she played an active role in helping to proliferate entrepreneurial skills in the public schools through Brilliant Projects and Makerspaces.
Community involvement is important to Joanna, as she currently serves on the board of directors for the Nashwaak Watershed Association, protecting the natural habitat and watershed.

David Eisnor

Business Development Officer, Futurpreneur

David Eisnor is an entrepreneur. He has experience with small business consulting specializing in business start-ups; renovating and restoring old homes; and running a tourism business. David has over a decade of experience supporting entrepreneurs with business start-up through his experience working with the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED), the Entrepreneurs' Forum, and most recently in his role at Futurpreneur Canada (formerly CYBF). David has demonstrated his passion for entrepreneurship by successfully opening and running the Halifax Backpackers Hostel. In 2004 he and his business partner were named Young Entrepreneurs of the year with the Business Development Bank of Canada, and the Best Business Award for Community Involvement with the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF). He sold this business to his business partner in 2008. David is also an investment property owner and property manager. Most recently, David embarked on a new venture in farming. He is in the process of setting up a haskap orchard in Upper Branch, NS, with the hopes of expanding into value added products and eventually Agri-Tourism. David holds a business degree from Acadia University.

Dr. Dhirendra Shukla has been the Dr. J. Herbert Smith ACOA Chair since September 2009. He did his BEng and MSc in Chemical Engineering and Computing and Performance Engineering from the University of Bradford (UK). Dhirendra worked for several years in the Telecom Sector for Nortel Networks (Canada) in various roles and prior to joining Nortel Networks he worked for Croda International (UK). Dhirendra obtained his MBA from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa (Canada) and completed his PhD in Entrepreneurial Finance from the University of London in the UK (King's College London). His current research interests are in Venture Capital, Syndication, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Finance, Performance and Governance, and Boards of Directors.

Dhirendra currently teaches Entrepreneurial Finance, Business Planning and Strategy in an Entrepreneurial Environment, Global Engineering, Managing in the Creative Economy, Experiential Learning in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, Product Design and Development as well as Leadership in an Era of Deep Change.

Brian Dunphy

Brian Dunphy has over a decade of experience working with and founding technology startups.  Brian co-founded Radian6 and assisted in building a highly successful Social Media Monitoring Company, which was acquired by Salesforce.com in 2011.  Brian has led several development teams including the User Interface/User Experience group at Radian6, and has worked in the past with Q1 Labs as a UI Designer and Software Engineer. Dr. E. Stephen Grant

UNB Professor of Marketing & IBEC Activator professor

E. STEPHEN GRANT, Acting Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs and Professor of Marketing, joined the Faculty of Business Administration in 1993 and is a member of the Entrepreneurship and the Marketing Areas. Dr. Grant received the Faculty of Business Administration Excellence in Teaching Award in 2009 and the UNB Merit Award in 2005 for his performance in research, service, and teaching.

Dr. Grant has a record of extensive service with the Faculty. His service has included multiple terms as area coordinator, Associate Dean Research and Outreach (2001-2005) and  Associate Dean, Programs (2007-2008).

Dr. Grant is currently serving as Acting Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs.His primary responsibility is administrative oversight of the undergraduate and graduate business programs at UNBF. His office is responsible for the management of admissions, enrolment, academic appeals or reviews, student advising, and other academic services. Additionally, he sits on undergraduate and graduate curriculum committees at the Faculty and University level.

He is a member of the editorial boards of Industrial Marketing Management, the Journal of Relationship Marketing, and the Journal of the Academy of Business Education.

Dr. Grant's current research interests include: customer service and satisfaction, entrepreneurship  and measurement scale development. His research has been published in various journals, including: the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, the Journal of Marketing - Theory and Practice, and Marketing Education Review. In addition, he is co-author of three textbooks for leading business publishers.

Kayley Reed

We've developed partnerships with some of the largest mental health organizations in North America, and collaborate on products and campaigns to benefit their initiatives. In 2015, Wear Your Label debut S/S16 at New York Fashion Week.

Our team is one of 6 start-ups in the first cohort of Innovators at the Joe Fresh Centre for Innovation.
